Robert Nazar Arjoyan is an award-winning filmmaker born in America to Armenian parents. Arjoyan studied cinema at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and has worked in a variety of roles as a writer, producer and director of films.
Arjoyan crowdsourced the funds for many of his short films, including Pencils (2009, short), Connect (2011, short), and Midnight Fist Fight (2012), which examined Armenian cultural rituals of manhood and honour, and satisfying matters of pride.

Arjovan usually edits his own film projects, and often writes original music as scores for his films as well.

His first feature-length documentary, When My Sorrow Died: The Legend Of Armen Ra & The Theremin (2014), has been highly acclaimed, winning Best Film and Best International Documentary at the 2014 Byron Bay Film Festival, Director’s Choice at Illuminate Film Festival, Winner, Best Documentary feature The Big Easy Film Festival, Winner of the 17th Annual ARPA International Film Festival, Best Editing at the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles, Best Music Documentary at the Macon Film Festival and many more.
