Nora Aunor is one of the Phillipines most beloved actresses, starring in over 180 feature films, stage and TV, and is also a successful recording star and film producer. She is so well respected in her native country that she is regarded as “The People’s National Artist”
Anour has had a long and distinguished career in film, beginning in 1967 when she was just 14, with her debut All Over the World. She graduated to adult roles and much acclaim in films like Tatlong taong walang Diyos (1976), Himala (1982), Bona (1980), The Flor Contemplation Story (1995) and the recent film Thy Womb (2012).
Aunor is one of the most awarded actresses in the Phillipines, and was entered into the ‘Hall of Fame’ after she won five Best Actress Awards. She has been nominated for 18 and won seven Gawad Urian Awards. She has been hailed as by the Green Planet Movie Awards as one of the “10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade” and has been nominated as best actress across three Asian film awards: The 6th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA, 2014, winner), the 55th Asia Pacific Film (APFF) in Macau and in the 7th Asian Film Awards (AFA) in Hong Kong (winner).
