“I only take Viagra when I am with more than one woman…”
I spent the weekend with Jack Nicholson…. Being the only actor to ever play the Devil, the Joker, and a werewolf, it was unpredictable, exciting, and so very enjoyable break.
It started with ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’, for which he won his first Best Actor Oscar, followed by ‘Something’s Gotta Give’, ‘As Good as It Gets’ and ended with ‘Witches of Eastwick.’
Did you know that Nicholson has received Oscar nods in every decade from 1960s through the 2000s and has won three times?
He dedicated his Oscar for ‘As Good as It Gets’ in 1997 to J.T. Walsh, his co-star in ‘A Few Good Men’ who had died shortly before the Academy Awards in 1998.
He had his first big break in 1996 with ‘Easy Rider’ and his portrayal of liquor-soaked attorney George Hanson, which earned Nicholson his first Oscar nomination. Other notable work during this period includes ‘Five Easy Pieces’, Roman Polanski’s noir masterpiece ‘Chinatown’ and ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’.
He lives on the famed ‘bad boy drive’, Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills, California, along side notorious bad boys Warren Beatty, and the late Marlon Brando.
In more recent year, Nicholson occasionally agrees to speak briefly when approached by reports but he has not appeared on a talk show since 1971 and refuses to do televised interviews except for press conferences.
He surprised and delighted all his classmates in 2004 by attending his 50th high school reunion at Manasquan High School in Manasquan, New Jersey.
He was also, along with many other roles, considered for Sir Anthony Hopkin’s role in Silence of the Lambs and once described The Joker as a psychotic version of Bugs Bunny!
