Meet The Filmmakers aims to provide value to film lovers and filmmakers by supplying affordable films to users and good financial returns to filmmakers. Meet The Filmmakers is also keen to support filmmakers who go the extra distance to fund their own films, sometimes risking persecution to provide insights into important issues.

Meet The Filmmakers has been designed by filmmakers for filmmakers and film lovers to give them everything that they could want in one website.

Meet The Filmmakers is based in Mullumbimby near Byron Bay, NSW, Australia.

Michael Weatherhead

Managing Director

Michael is an award-winning filmmaker and a business consultant and is passionate about new media and what it can achieve.  Michael says, “There is a bottleneck in the market that makes it very hard to get films screened and financed. I want to get those films to a greater audience through the internet and so I have created Meet The Filmmakers. But its more than that – it’s a new way to profile filmmakers to an audience of film lovers.”

Dr Lucy Anna Rhoades

Social Media & Content Producer

Lucy has worked as a filmmaker, researcher and journalist from print media to film companies, from music television through to documentary and current affairs. Lucy is currently working as a Content Producer for MeetTheFilmmakers.com. She has also worked as a presenter and journalist at VOD websites HotSpots.co and ScreenZone.tv.She has worked as a Producer and Director at One Planet Films on the film The Assange Agenda. She was a Researcher and Journalist for the BBC and Nickelodeon, and worked with a range of UK independent documentary production companies including The Oxford Television Company and 1,2,3 Productions.
